Pride celebrations in June provide opportunities for churches to support and affirm all of God’s children. Our website includes a variety of resources to help you extend a special welcome to LGBTQIA+ people in and outside of your church’s walls:
A Practical Guide to Churches at Pride offers logistical, relational, and other tips to assist churches seeking to support the community at a Pride gathering.
Songs for the Holy Other features new hymns written by LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies to uplift the community in congregational song.
Liturgy and prayers for transgender and gender-diverse people are available on our Gender Identity resource page, with a new prayer of blessing by Board member TJ Remaley and a poem by Slats Toole.
Board members Jenny McDevitt and Slats Toole have also published LGBTQIA+ inclusive liturgy for free use in any worship service, especially appropriate for celebrations of Pride month.
We encourage you to explore all of our resources in case additional materials may be helpful for your congregation.
The Covenant Network of Presbyterians seeks to equip and empower churches in extending hospitality to all people. If there are any additional resources you’d like to see, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are deeply grateful for churches that proclaim a wide welcome and embody God’s inclusive love.
