Covenant Network Board Welcomes New Members, Co-Moderator
Three experienced leaders in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) -- Tony Aja, Vince Patton, and Mieke Vandersall --have joined the board of the Covenant Network of Presbyterians, helping lead it into a new season of advocacy, education and theological leadership. Covenant Network Grateful for Supreme Court Decision
The Covenant Network is profoundly grateful for the decision of the Supreme Court in Obergefell v. Hodges, in which the Court proclaimed that states may not refuse to grant marriage licenses to couples of the same sex, and must recognize valid marriages contracted in other jurisdictions. The decision expands marriage equality nationwide and affirms the equal dignity of all persons, removing one form of legal discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

What's next for the Covenant Network?
A lot of people have been asking us over the last few months what’s next for us. Now that the presbyteries have voted to approve Amendment 14-F, affirming that ministers may officiate, and sessions may host, same-gender weddings, and now that LGBTQ people are being ordained in congregations and presbyteries around the country, what will the Covenant Network do? What does our mission look like going forward?Executive Director Brian Ellison addresses the question in this video.

Marci Glass elected Co-Moderator of Board
The Rev. Marci Auld Glass, pastor of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Boise, Idaho, is the new Co-Moderator of the Board of Directors of the Covenant Network of Presbyterians. "Even as we have made great progress, we recognize the Covenant Network's vision toward a church as generous and just as God's grace is not yet complete. I look forward to working with the Board, and with the greater church, as we live into a church ever more generous and ever more just."
So Now, What…? And : So, Now What?
A sermon on Deuteronomy 10:12-22 by Tricia Dykers Koenig for the Northwest Regional Conference: "The question for us is Deuteronomy’s “So now, what does the Lord your God require of you?” And: “So… now what?” Now that “our side” has “won” on ordination standards and, everyone knows, will win on marriage, but while the day-to-day struggle still rages and the justice God has promised is not fully realized, how do we help along the transitions that all can see coming, but some are grieving? How do we speed change, care for those who have suffered exclusion and indignity, and hold out a hand to those feeling run over by the train of progress, those who may be feeling more and more like strangers in a world and a church that are changing in uncomfortable ways? How do we make it easier for the eventual evolvers?"
Covenant Network Adopts New Call to Covenant Community
The Board of Directors of the Covenant Network has approved a new Call to Covenant Community, inviting congregations and individuals to renew their commitment — or make one for the first time — to the Covenant Network’s work for inclusion and unity in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).While we rightly celebrate the passage of G-2.0104b, returning historic and just standards for examination and ordination, the new Call reminds the church that there is still much work to do. All are invited to read the new mission statement and Call to Covenant Community – and to sign on by clicking the “JOIN” button at the left of the page.
