This June is LGBTQIA+ Pride Month. While we commemorate the Stonewall Riots that took place more than 50 years ago, let us remember the lives of Tony McDade and other LGBTQIA+ persons of color who have lost their lives due to acts of violence. May we hear the voices of the long silenced and help the church to live out its call to work for justice and peace.

Six Church Leaders Join CNP Board's Ministry of Equipping, Advocacy in 2019
Six church leaders reflecting a range of gifts and experiences -- from seminary faculty and staff to pastors of churches large and small -- will join the Covenant Network of Presbyterians board in 2019. Each brings wisdom, knowledge and prophetic hope for transformation in the PCUSA.

Twenty Years and Counting: Looking Back and Looking Forward

I tell you because the work they did was really all about these days of glory. This new day in our life together. Together these siblings in Christ have, truly, taken the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) — in Pam’s immortal words — “toward a church as generous and just as God’s grace.” But they are not the Covenant Network, not in its fullness. And neither are we...."


First Presbyterian, Lincoln, Joins the Covenant Network
The Covenant Network of Presbyterians welcomes its newest congregation, the First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln, Nebraska. As Pastor Sue Coller wrote to the congregation, "Our session felt that it is time we be more bold in letting people know who we are."

Covenant Network Board Welcomes New Members, Co-Moderator
Three experienced leaders in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) -- Tony Aja, Vince Patton, and Mieke Vandersall --have joined the board of the Covenant Network of Presbyterians, helping lead it into a new season of advocacy, education and theological leadership. And long-time board member the Rev. Daniel Vigilante has become the board’s Co-Moderator.

Jack B. Rogers: In life and in death we belong to God
The Rev. Dr. Mark Smutny, a former member of the Covenant Network Board and Jack Rogers’ longtime pastor, graciously agreed to share his reflections:We mourn the death and celebrate the life of The Reverend Dr. Jack Rogers, who died this past Wednesday, July 13 at his home in Pasadena, California at the age of 82. His memorial service bearing witness to the resurrection will be this Friday, July 22, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at the Pasadena Presbyterian Church, 585 East Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91101, where Jack worshiped for decades along with his wife, Sharon.

Doughnuts and Discussion in Portland
The Covenant Network will welcome commissioners, advisory delegates, and observers on Friday evening, June 17, to the Voodoo Doughnuts Commissioners' Convocation. beginning at 7:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church in downtown Portland.Greet one another while sampling Portland's famous Voodoo Doughnuts; hear about the Covenant Network's priorities for this General Assembly; listen to the moderatorial candidates introduce themselves; and learn some of the ways that you can participate effectively at this GA. Commissioners and advisory delegates will have an opportunity to meet others from their committee, along with volunteers who are there to support their work.
