CNP Resources for Seeking a Call

If you or someone you know is seeking a pastoral call in the Presbyterian Church (USA), we are delighted to share with you the following opportunities to serve inclusive congregations.

These congregations on our webpage share Covenant Network’s vision of the church and have openings on their pastoral staffs. Their Pastor Nominating Committees are particularly interested in considering candidates with a faithful understanding of the Gospel that is open and affirming of LGBTQ people. From one recent posting from East Liberty Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, Pa.:

All are welcome at East Liberty Presbyterian Church (ELPC), an urban church where a diverse community of believers works to extend Christ’s radical hospitality to all who enter our doors. We are a congregation of 750-1,000 members, and we are currently searching for a Senior Pastor. Our church has a long history of involvement in our community, especially centering on housing issues, and our activity around eliminating systemic racism, working for improvements in our social justice system, and establishing a welcoming place for LGBTQIA+ friends and members is well-known.

Another from Community of Grace Presbyterian Church in Sandy, Utah:

Community of Grace Presbyterian Church is a justice-seeking, LGBTQ+ affirming, intellectually and theologically curious congregation. We want our adults to know, and our children to grow into the awareness, that they are loved by God and the church, regardless of what stigma the world might place on them; and as their spiritual home, we want them to know they have a place to share love through the church.

These positions offer an exciting chance to be part of a vibrant, faithful community and work for justice and inclusion within the Presbyterian Church (USA). We hope you’ll take a look at the openings and spread the word about them to others who might be interested.

If you are an LGBTQIA+ candidate or minister seeking a call and would like assistance navigating the process, more information on congregations who are seeking a pastor, or any other support, please contact Executive Director Brian Ellison.
