Welcoming the Rev. Joanna Hipp to Our Board

The Covenant Network of Presbyterians is guided by a team of amazing, talented leaders that are working for a church that is simultaneously faithful, just, and whole. As we look forward to the months ahead, we are delighted to welcome Rev. Joanna Hipp to our Board of Directors. In addition to bringing an array of valuable skills, which you can read about in her bio below, she was mentored by longtime Board member Cliff Kirkpatrick.

The Rev. Joanna Hipp is Associate Pastor of Southport Presbyterian Church in Southport, NC. She is a graduate of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian College and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. During her time at LPTS, she was mentored by Cliff Kirkpatrick, traveling to the Global Ecumenical Theological Institute in Korea. She was a steward to the World Council of Churches Central Committee Meeting in Greece. Joanna’s particular vocation is to ecumenical and interreligious dialogue, anti-racism, and LGBTQIA+ inclusion and affirmation. These passions led her to be an intern at the World Communion of Reformed Churches in Hannover, Germany; to serve on the General Assembly Special Committee on Racism, Truth, and Reconciliation; and to be the Executive for Media Relations for the Charlotte Clergy Coalition for Justice. Joanna is currently serving on the General Assembly Committee on Ecumenical and Interreligious Relations. Her uniform for ministry includes pants of every possible color.

We are blessed to have her insight on our Board of Directors as we pursue a more equitable world together.
