Welcoming New Board Member Laura Viau

In this new year, we are celebrating new Board members who share our commitment to widening the welcome of the PC(USA):

Daniel Herron, a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Tacoma, Washington and a Young Adult Advisory Delegate at the 2022 General Assembly.
The Rev. Joanna Hipp, associate pastor of Southport (N.C.) Presbyterian Church.
The Rev. Julia Watkins, associate pastor for mission and congregational life at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Greenvile, S.C.
The Rev. Alex Vaiz, co-pastor of Casas de Paz (Houses of Peace), a new worshiping community in Sacramento, California.

This week, are delighted to share more about the Rev. Laura Viau (she/her/hers) from First and Central Presbyterian Church in New Castle Presbytery as we welcome her to the Board.

Laura brings a wide range of professional experience to her leadership in the sanctuary and in meeting rooms, from teaching and coaching to fundraising and communications. Ordained to transitional ministry, she served congregations in both Central Florida and Coastal Carolina prior to answering the call to put down roots in Wilmington, Delaware. Laura is passionate about hearing and telling the stories that break open old ways of knowing and invite us to bring life, hope, and joy to all God's children. She is also excited to be part of extending First & Central's long partnership with  Covenant Network.

Her depth of experience and knowledge will be a great asset to the Covenant Network of Presbyterians. We are incredibly fortunate to have her leadership as we strive for justice and equity in our churches and communities.
