Praying for Congregations in Laguna Woods

We are hearing of another tragic mass shooting this afternoon, at Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods, California. The church hosted our Covenant Conversation event in 2019.

The Rev. Dr. Steven M. Marsh, Pastor/Head of Staff at Geneva Presbyterian Church, wrote,

"The Geneva Church family will support the ITPC congregation through this traumatic experience. We will listen to this community and follow their lead. The Session and staff is requesting that together, we pray for one another and those in our surrounding communities. We’ve all been affected, and we hold our neighbors at ITPC at the center of our prayers."

You can read the rest of his letter at the church's website.

As details surface, we hold in prayer the Irvine Taiwanese Presbyterian Church congregation that reports indicate had gathered at the church for a luncheon honoring a former pastor. We also pray for Geneva congregation, Pastors Furen, Marsh and Romberg, and all affected in this moment by fear and grief. May God’s peace and healing prevail.
