Celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility
The Rev. TJ Remaley, one of our new Board members, rallied yesterday at the Idaho State Capitol with Southminster Presbyterian Church for Transgender Day of Visibility. One church member wrote,
"To my transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming friends-you are seen and you are heard. I celebrate your humanity, your strength and your courage. You matter. You make our state a better place. You are loved and chosen. I stand with you, today and everyday."
Despite the many discriminatory bills piling up in state legislatures across the country, we give thanks for churches standing for the dignity and worth of all God's children. When people can show up in the fullness of their identities, our communities are safer, healthier, and more full of the love of Christ. Every day, not just on Trans Day of Visibility, we are working to defend and protect our transgender neighbors in the Church and world.
