The Bible’s Witness to Welcome of LGBTQIA+ People
In-depth study of texts previously used to condemn the LGBTQIA+ community can revision the Bible as a tool of inspiration rather than domination. This workshop from Covenant Conversation: South Carolina, by Amy Cerniglia, CNP’s Communications Coordinator, equips participants to reassert the good news of Jesus Christ’s expansive love for all people with God’s Word as a firm foundation.
Amy Cerniglia is the Communications Coordinator for the Covenant Network of Presbyterians, where she helps support churches in welcoming LGBTQIA+ people. A graduate of The University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, she is a Candidate for Ministry of Word and Sacrament under the care of Peace River Presbytery. She received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Organ Performance from Mississippi College, and has contributed to publications such as The Presbyterian Outlook, the PC(USA)’s Call to Worship journal, and The Hymn Society’s Songs for the Holy Other.
