Queer Theology: Opening Doors to Discipleship

The Association of Partners in Christian Education (APCE) has launched a Queer Theology module on its popular Opening Doors for Discipleship platform with presentations by Presbyterians and CNP leadership. Topics include gender and sexuality, worship practices, queer theology, and practical applications in church.

The module explores four key topics through interconnected videos:

Brian Ellison introduces foundational concepts of queer theology within Reformed traditions; Dr. Jimmy Hoke examines gender and sexuality through queer biblical interpretation; Rev. Brooke Scott and Slats Toole demonstrate inclusive worship practices using expansive language and liturgy; and Rev. Marci Glass and Rev. Pepa Paniagua conclude with practical applications for creating authentically welcoming church communities through outreach and advocacy.

Each presentation includes reflection questions and additional resources, making this module valuable for both individual study and group discussions on fostering more inclusive faith communities.
