Meet Amy Cerniglia, CNP's New Communications Coordinator

Last year, the Covenant Network of Presbyterians received a record number of requests for guidance, educational programs, and other support as awareness grows about the work ahead in fully welcoming and affirming all people in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). To that end, we expanded Amy Cerniglia's role with digital media to add her on staff as Communications Coordinator. Keep an eye out for increased online activity, more online resources offerings, and other work in communicating our vision to the church. She'd love to hear from you at amy@covnetpres.org."Communication is Gospel work, and at the Covenant Network of Presbyterians, we have spent a quarter-century trying to tell the truth in ways that persuade, inspire, and transform," says the Rev. Brian Ellison, executive director. "Amy has already made an invaluable contribution to our ministry by extending the reach of our message in the digital space. Now, I'm excited for the ways she will bring her gifts to all our work spreading the Good News of love and justice for all people, which I know will have a profound impact."Amy began coordinating CNP's digital communications in 2021. A Master of Divinity student at The University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, she is the Vice Moderator of the UDTS Student Council and under care of Peace River Presbytery as a Candidate for ordination. In Peace River Presbytery, she serves as co-moderator of the Communication, Connection, Community Team. She has contributed to publications such as Presbyterian Outlook, The Hymn Society's Songs for the Holy Other, and Unbound: An Interactive Journal of Christian Social Justice. Before pursuing her Master of Divinity, Amy received a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Organ Performance from Mississippi College. In Bradenton, FL, Amy serves as Director of Music and Outreach at Peace Presbyterian Church. Her wife is a social worker specializing in crisis intervention and often helping teach youth at their church. Of her new role, Amy said,

As God revealed the call on my life to deepen my service in the Church by pursuing ordained ministry, the Covenant Network of Presbyterians provided crucial encouragement and support. I'm deeply grateful to serve an organization that upholds the dignity and worth of God's LGBTQIA+ children.
