Don't Miss Our Upcoming Events

At the Covenant Network of Presbyterians, we are so excited for a return to more live events. Several upcoming opportunities include workshops, panel discussions, and more events aimed at broadening the Church's welcome to all God's children.First Presbyterian Church in Decatur, IL will host a panel discussion on Saturday, October 23 from 3pm-5pm: "Safer Space and Bolder Vision: Connecting with Others to Welcome LGBTQIA+ People." This presentation and panel discussion will explore how congregations and individuals can more authentically and effectively welcome LGBTQIA+ people in church and society. We’ll explore the history of the church’s exclusion and growing affirmation of people of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities, and share practical ways to strengthen our work for inclusion and equity, including making connections with others nationally and locally. The following morning at FPC Decatur, Executive Director Brian Ellison will lead an Adult Education Class at 9:45 AM entitled "How Welcoming Are We?: Honest Talk and Practical Help Building a More Truly Inclusive Church" and preach at the 8:45am and 11:00 am worship services, with both services livestreamed.Next is Covenant Conversation: Charlotte on November 13 from 8am-12:30pm. A panel discussion at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC will include a diverse group of voices sharing the experiences of LGBTQIA+ people in the church, and church leaders sharing about their work walking with congregations seeking to become more welcoming.
