Rivers of Living Water
The 219th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) will explore the theme "Rivers of Living Water" when it convenes on the banks of the Mississippi in Minneapolis, MN, July 3-10, 2010. And the Covenant Network will be there too, witnessing to, praying for, and working toward a church as generous and just as God's grace. If you will be a commissioner or advisory delegate, please be in touch with National Organizer Tricia Dykers Koenig to learn how we can support you.Others -- including overture advocates and observers without an official role -- are encouraged to volunteer with our team. We have a variety of jobs available, with commitment levels varying from an hour or so to 24/7.When registration opens on March 9, be sure to get tickets to our Commissioner Convocation Dinner -- Friday, July 2, with speaker Doug Nave -- and to hear Gustav Niebuhr at the Covenant Network Luncheon -- Monday, July 5.Even if you do not plan to be in Minneapolis, you can contribute -- beginning now:
- Pray for the General Assembly, your presbytery's commissioners and advisory delegates, and the whole PCUSA.
- Propose an overture to your presbytery -- contact Tricia for ideas.
- Commend CovNet to the commissioners and advisory delegates you know, and invite them to our events. Consider supporting them by purchasing their tickets to CovNet events.
- Make a special donation to help us defray the costs of being in Minneapolis.
