The Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area and the Covenant Network of Presbyterians are co-sponsoring a day-long Covenant Conversation, themed “The Courage To Be Transformed: Church, LGBTQIA+ People, and Authentic Belonging” on October 19 at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church. The event will explore personal and congregational transformation in relation to LGBTQIA+ inclusion in faith communities.
In addition to plenary sessions, workshops, and worship, participants will engage in conversations about widening their church’s welcome and building authentic community. A panel discussion moderated by Rev. Brian Ellison will share experiences of creating welcoming faith communities, while workshops will cover topics such as navigating less queer-inclusive spaces, expanding worship practices, and uncovering queer and transgender narratives in the Bible. The Rev. Marci Auld Glass will deliver the sermon during the closing worship service.
Church leaders, congregation members, and all interested in the intersection of faith, inclusivity, and identity are encouraged to register here.
