Let us preach for you! CNP leaders are making more video sermons available for your free use in congregations. Four weeks before the preaching dates, you’ll receive the sermon text and title and a brief synopsis for use in preparing music and liturgy. The videos of scripture reading and sermon will be available for download no later than the Monday prior to use. Each video will also include an optional 90-second moment for mission from Executive Director Brian Ellison on the work of the Covenant Network of Presbyterians.

The Rev. Jenny McDevitt will preach the first virtual sermon for Sunday, June 27 from Mark 5:21-43. Currently, Rev. McDevitt serves as the pastor of Shandon Presbyterian Church in Columbia, SC and as co-moderator for the Covenant Network of Presbyterians. She has written liturgy for national conferences and served on the board of The Presbyterian Outlook

On Sunday, August 1, the Rev. Marci Auld Glass will preach on Ephesians 4:1-16. The pastor of Calvary Presbyterian Church in San Francisco, CA, Rev. Glass has led CNP both as a board member and co-moderator since 2013. In addition to running her own blog at Glass Overflowing, she has published with Call to Worship, Huffington Post’s religion blog, and Abingdon’s Creative Preaching Annual for 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Finally, the Rev. Matt Gaventa will provide the third sermon on Sunday, September 5 with Mark 7:24-37. Rev. Gaventa serves as pastor at University Presbyterian Church in Austin, TX. Featured in Working Preacher and in The Christian Century, he also co-hosts the podcast Sunday Morning Matinee.

Whether you’re interested in including one or all three of these excellent preachers in your virtual sermons, all three are available free of charge. To receive notifications about the sermon, including a synopsis and hymn recommendations, email Brian at [email protected].
