The Board of Directors of the Covenant Network welcomes Nancy Enderle on board as Interim Executive Director. Nancy has been an ordained pastor in the PC(USA) for over 25 years.  She has served on the staffs of Hitchcock Presbyterian Church, a suburban New York City congregation, and Fourth Presbyterian Church, an urban congregation in downtown Chicago, IL.  In addition, she conducted training seminars for a communications consulting firm in New York City, and worked on communications and fundraising for a non-profit small-schools initiative in Chicago, The Ariel Education Initiative.

A member of John Knox Presbytery, Nancy chaired the Committee on Preparation for Ministry that oversaw the inquiry and candidacy of Scott Anderson.  She also testified on behalf of the Presbytery, before the Permanent Judicial Commission for the Synod of Lakes and Prairies, in the challenge to the Presbytery’s decision to recommend Scott for ordination. The SPJC upheld the Presbytery’s action in October, 2010,  and the case is now on appeal before the GAPJC, where it is scheduled to be heard in July.

“As a pastor I have felt and witnessed deep pain caused by the introductionof Amendment B to our Book of Order. How Covenant Network lives into a “post-B” denomination will continue to demand our best efforts to work on behalf of a generous and just Church;  one that is respectful of all people,  not just those with whom we agree.  I’m honored to share in shaping that vision and carrying out that important work.”

Nancy lives in Madison, WI with her husband, Gordon, and their two children.  She plans to work from Madison and rely on technology to keep in touch with the office in San Francisco and the Covenant Network Staff. “I’m excited to join this talented staff team.  Though we’re spread across the country,  we are united by a common commitment to the mission of the Covenant Network.”
